Gift Wrapping

Anyone who knows me knows I love to wrap gifts. Just scored this leopard wrapping paper for $1.50 and these adorable Timree cards (6/$1.50) at Michaels. I love leopard mixed with green, but these glittered cards are too cute!

Would you even care what's inside if someone gave you something wrapped like this? Happy Monday! 

50 Shades of (Yawn) Grey

Leave it to me to start blogging again when the 50 Shades trailer was released.  Personally, not what I had in mind.  I even watched it twice (okay..maybe 4 mmm 5 times) hoping I might have missed the part that would make my heart skip a beat.  Nope...nothing. I take that back, the elevator kiss was amazing.  Do I really have to read the books again to get my heart racing?  Let's hope the movie "enlightens me."  Here is the cast that I had in my head when I read the books.........twice. (don't judge)

Glitter Pumpkins

I live in Florida and it is still pretty hot here so carving pumpkins doesn't happen until later October.  I just saw this adorable idea on Nest of Posies for painting your pumpkins a fun color and using Modge Podge to glitter the stems.  Perfect weekend fun with the kiddos....actually, I would be doing this even if I didn't have kids.

Barefoot Contessa

My girls love to cook (almost as much as I do).  All of Ina Garten's cookbooks are my "go to" books for any recipe.  All of her recipes are fabulous and all 3 of my kiddos have pulled up a chair at the stove and have read recipes with me from almost all of her cookbooks.  I recently found these pictures of the girls when we were making her chocolate chunk cookies.  Looks like these pictures were taken back in 2005 because my 3rd wasn't even born yet...which made me the Barefoot and Pregnant Contessa.  Someday I will have a little market of my own...just like Ina.  Happy Cooking!

Recipe to Try...

Say it isn't so....mixing chocolate and water!?!  Has anyone tried this yet?  I just saw it on
College Fashion under their Hautelinks.  The video is posted on youtube and under Cafe Fernando.  My hubby loves chocolate mousse so I will test it and give you the results.  This recipe was invented by a French chemist and there are only 2 ingredients...CHOCOLATE and WATER so you need to use really really good chocolate.  I have the water...now I just need to go get some chocolate. I will post results.  If someone has already tried this and it's a flop, please email me so I don't waste my water. Happy Weekend!

It has been so long...I forgot how to post on my own blog!  Just getting Christmas put away.  (is that normal??)  I miss talking to myself online (otherwise known as blogging) so one of my New Year's resolutions is to be more organized so I can blog more often ;)
Not sure how new this is, but I just came across it.  Absolutely LOVE it! This would be perfect in a little powder bath or painted pink in a little girl's room.  It would be amazing in a high gloss white too, or yellow or green..actually ANY color  high-gloss paint you can choose!

Halloween Candy Fun..no baking required!

I was searching for cute Halloween treats and looky looky what I found...some of the sweetest treats I have ever seen and better yet, no baking required! So grab some candy and start making these yummy treats! I need a staff like Martha Stewart....how will I have time to make all these before Halloween?  The candy kebobs are fast and easy (be nice)

If you are making the candy kebobs for gifts, grab some pretzels bags from the craft store.  They are tall skinny cello bags and tie with a cute black white polka dot ribbon for a cute treat to hand out to friends or teachers!

New Ivy & Piper is Out Now!

One of my favorite online magazines, Ivy & Piper,  just posted it's Celebration Issue for October/November.  It has the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen.  Little old me
was featured in their party section.  I pulled some of my favorite pics to inspire me and then I

Halloween Decorations!

My favorite time of year...Fall!  The air is crisp, soups for dinner, pumpkin lattes from Starbucks, boots, scarves and my hair doesn't frizz up from the humidity (like Monica on FRIENDS) Being in sunny Florida, it doesn't feel like it yet, but it is suppose to be 85 on Sunday!!  So this weekend, the kids and I are climbing in the attic to find our decorations, going to pumpkin patch for some perfect pumpkins and decorating our house for Halloween...starting with the front porch.  Here are some ideas....
