Acorn Placecards

You can find these adorable acorns (wait til you see the mushrooms)
from Fairyfolk on Etsy.
They are $16/set of 6.

Feeling organic?  Use real acorns and real leaves....rustic and just as charming.

I would love to add a little glitter to the edges of these leaves, but who am I kidding...I will end up pointing to the chairs in my house and telling everyone where they need to sit.  LOL!

Halloween Candy Fun..no baking required!

I was searching for cute Halloween treats and looky looky what I found...some of the sweetest treats I have ever seen and better yet, no baking required! So grab some candy and start making these yummy treats! I need a staff like Martha Stewart....how will I have time to make all these before Halloween?  The candy kebobs are fast and easy (be nice)

I will make some cute halloween tags for you to print at home too.  I will design tomorrow and post this weekend!

If you are making the candy kebobs for gifts, grab some pretzels bags from the craft store.  They are tall skinny cello bags and tie with a cute black white polka dot ribbon for a cute treat to hand out to friends or teachers!

okay...couldn't sleep..here is tag.  Post a comment or email me and I will send you pdf so you can print from home.

New Ivy & Piper is Out Now!

One of my favorite online magazines, Ivy & Piper,  just posted it's Celebration Issue for October/November.  It has the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen.  Little old me
was featured in their party section.  I pulled some of my favorite pics to inspire me and then I
created a tablescape literally using things around my house.  If I love these things in my house, why wouldn't I love them on my table at a dinner party?  Click on the link or on the magazine posted on the left side of my blog to see!

Halloween Decorations!

My favorite time of year...Fall!  The air is crisp, soups for dinner, pumpkin lattes from Starbucks, boots, scarves and my hair doesn't frizz up from the humidity (like Monica on FRIENDS) Being in sunny Florida, it doesn't feel like it yet, but it is suppose to be 85 on Sunday!!  So this weekend, the kids and I are climbing in the attic to find our decorations, going to pumpkin patch for some perfect pumpkins and decorating our house for Halloween...starting with the front porch.  Here are some ideas....
Would this be considered a Missoni Pumpkin?  Some gold
spray paint and a black marker....done!  Sorry ebay sellers,
you can't get these at Target.

Raise the Bar

One of our clients (also one of my favorite clients ;)  just received her bar yesterday.  Setting up your bar at home is fast and easy. (like a couple of people I'm sure we all know)  If you have a well stocked bar, you are sure to have a good time.  There are different ways to set up your bar depending on how dressy or casual you would like it.  For me, it usually depends on what room it's in or what type of party it is so stock up and have a drink...it's Friday!

For a list of basics to always keep on hand, I go to my entertaining Bible by Colin Cowie.  (who I secretly have a crush on...don't say anything)  Your party size will also determine how much wine, liquor or champagne to get.  To get started, here is what you will need:  (Jut....this is for you!)  Oh and don't forget the Skinny Girl!

End of Summer Watermelon Party

My girlfriend just had a party Saturday night for her husband and I made Ina Garten's Watermelon Mojitos.  They were a huge hit so I wanted to share the recipe. I love watermelon colors so I thought how cute would an "End of Summer Watermelon" party be?? If I was organized, I would've had one right before school started.  As usual, I think of these things after the fact. Watermelon cupcakes for the kids and watermelon mojitos for the adults.  How refreshing!

The cutest Watermelon Cupcakes

Watermelon Baskets and Cones

Here is the recipe from Barefoot Contessa...Ina is my favorite. (not just because my real name is Contessa)  I like to crush the watermelon with a potato masher or you can use food processor.

Here is another sweet idea...Watermelon Slushies

I'm Loving Chocolate Walls

My girlfriend and I are working on a friend's house and just had her guest bedroom painted chocolate....it looks yummy! We are using crisp white bedding with splashes of yellow.  Since the room isn't finished yet, here are a few of my favorite pics using chocolate (and yellow).

New Outdoor Furniture

I just saw this new Galante outdoor collection from Ballard Designs and I absolutely love it.  I've had the same outdoor dining table for 12 years and I think it's time for a change. I think a round table covered with a blue white fabric, fresh flowers and candles would make a lovely table setting for a small intimate dinner outdoor by the pool. What do you think?

No Skinny Girl

3 liquor stores later... All sold out! Thank goodness my girlfriend, Ellen, found one last bottle for Arianna's birthday. We all had a taste and I actually love it. I know most people are used to the typical Margarita mix, but I like that they are not too strong and not too sweet. Aside from locating low calorie maragaritas this week, I was a few minutes late to my daughter's soccer game because I couldn't stop watching a movie on Lifetime and now I am standing at customer service at the grocery store with a cart full of groceries because I forgot my wallet at home. Funny considering it was Mother's Day a week ago.  Happy Monday Everyone!

Greek Key (to my heart)

I love Greek Key....not to mention Greek Food!  My girlfriend and I just pulled an incredible Greek Key fabric for a client's home..then while surfing one of my favorite online stores, I found an adorable pillow for myself on Furbish Studio.  (if you haven't been on Jamie Meares' online store, you must go now.  She has amazing style)
I'm always drawn to it..in every colorway.  Is it strange that I am craving hummus and tabbouleh?
Here are some of my favorite rooms using Greek Key....

Bedding

Plates

Bolster

Coasters

Napkins

Raffia Placemats

Greek Key Side Table is from Arteriors.
